Johannesburg, South Africa, April 22 2013, Legacy Software solutions today announced their entry into the system z arena with the release of the Legacy zXP product.

The Legacy zXP product offers the potential for IBM system z customers to reduce their monthly software licensing costs. It provides customers with the ability to drastically reduce the amount of processing power required to service the same transaction workloads you current experience in your z/OS online (IMS or CICS) Cobol based environment.

Legacy zXP allows IBM system z Customers who are currently using IBM”s sub capacity licensing model to drastically reduce their MLC costs. Full capacity/PVU licensing customers are able to activate the product, benchmark potential savings and plan for a swap out to sub capacity software licensing

Legacy zXP has been designed to be minimally intrusive and guarantees no behavioural change to your COBOL based applications. Pre and post transaction analysis of the nature of the workload provides you with a self- tuning system which would otherwise be a practically impossible process involving manual tuning.

Legacy zXP is currently available in Beta release to IMS customers running Language Environment Enterprise Cobol and z/OS 1.11 or above.
